We thought you might want to know what Stainless Steel is used in the making of our American Outdoor Built In Grills and Portable Grills. We hope this post is helpful and informative.
American Outdoor Grills are made with an advanced high-quality 304 stainless steel, also known as the Tool Steel or Work Horse Steel. This is the same type of stainless steel used to make the Gateway Arch in St. Louis! The AOG burners are also made of advanced 18 Gauge Stainless Steel.
Stainless Steel Grades
• 202 Series Stainless Steel uses chromium, manganese and nickel alloys. 202 Series has weak corrosion resistance.
• 304 Series Stainless Steel uses chromium and nickel alloys to make it very resistant to corrosion. All AOG grills use 304 Stainless Steel.
• 430 Series Stainless Steel is a cheaper steel that uses more chromium and no nickel. 430 series is not as resistant to corrosion as 304 Grade Stainless Steel.
You may pay a little more for 304 Grade Stainless Steel, but the resistance to corrosion will offset the cost for years to come.
